Do you remember Oliver’s casino or the tree in the middle of Highway 50 or the first high school at South Shore?

Several long-time residents will be looking back on local history Nov. 12 at 7pm in the lodge of Camp Richardson.

The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is putting on the event. Cost is $3 for non-members, no charge for members.

I came to Tahoe in 1945, and remember all of those mentioned, did all of my schooling at Tahoe and remember all of Tahoe’s growth since.
Tahoe used to be the most Beautiful place in the world, but has changed I am sad to say for the worst.

I hope someone makes a video of the evening and makes it available to those who cannot attend.

Sure hope they will broadcast this.
    I played a lot of
poker with the above mentioned ‘Oliver’ with Barney O.
who owned Barney’s casino (now CVS) as you all know.
Wonder what they would think of this 3 dollar charge
tacked on to have someone speak of their ‘history’?
