Sac County prosecutor faces DUI charge in accident involving SLT driver
By Brad Branan, Sacramento Bee
For the second time in his career, a Sacramento County deputy district attorney faces drunken driving charges after getting into a car accident.
The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office this month filed a criminal complaint in Superior Court against Alan Scott Hengel, 58. The complaint alleges that Hengel had a blood alcohol content of 0.10, above the 0.08 legal limit in California.
Around midnight on Oct. 31, Hengel was driving approximately 70 mph west on Highway 50 near Kyburz when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the median and hit an oncoming truck driven by Raphael Townsend of South Lake Tahoe, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
Hengel blamed the driver of the other vehicle for the accident, then refused to submit to a drunken driving test, the report states.
Really, and this guy still has his job? He should be in jail and never get to drive again. What a looser!
Bad spellers of the world untie!
Isn’t it just super-cool that most people lose their lives, their jobs and their freedom when they break the law, but those in high-level government jobs don’t? Politicians, police and fire management, lawyers and judges are all exempt from the law. Combined with the wealthy, they are all just immune. And they wonder why the “social fabric” of America is tearing.
To conceal their crimes, politicians tend to rely on “cover up” methods, as they hide their crimes. Police officers rely on prosecutors and judges to look the other way, as they openly commit perjury and other crimes. Firemen form alliances with police officers, put “firefighter” license plates on their vehicles, and flash their identification, when they violate traffic law. Lawyers are allowed to lie in our courts, causing miscarriages of justice, and they call that representing their clients. Judges know the law better than nearly all other citizens, and these judges are provided immunity while they break the law. All of these techniques used are violations of the law. I’m just expanding a little bit on what Dumbfounded has brought to our attention.
I have to wonder how many times this prosecutor has successfully applied the letter of the law to others.
What’s also disturbing is that most people are not paying any attention to what’s going on.
If you think that government officials breaking the law are incidents from outside the community, think again.
I personally witnessed two local government employees commit a felony act this summer that resulted in damage to federal & local property; the employees remain employed. To add insult to injury, these two seized property owned by a local municipality to gain access to a recreational area where they were then found drinking – and it wasn’t ice tea.
Av8r, did you report the incident?
