• Teens working on a book, story or poem are invited to meet with fellow writers for an afternoon of socializing, discussion, and writing. This free workshop sponsored by Friends of the Library is on Fridays through Feb. 28 at 3pm at the South Lake Tahoe Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd.

• Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area will be closed Jan. 13-16, with plans to reopen Jan. 17-Jan. 20 with the Learning Center and Ski School open to conduct first-time and beginner lessons.
