Interesting story in the news recently about 20+ bald eagles dying of West Nile Virus in Utah within the last month by virtue of eating the carcasses of thousands of dead grebes whom had died of WNV. That’s a new wrinkle in the transmission cycle of WNV not involving the primary vector of the pathogen, the Culex tarsalis species of mosquito.
