Gov. Jerry Brown on Saturday signed into law a $687 million drought-relief package to deal with a water shortage he has called the worst in the state’s modern history.

The legislation is intended to help residents, farmers and local communities, in part by tapping voter-approved bond money.

It includes measures to expand the recapture of storm runoff and the use and distribution of recycled water, as well as funding to secure emergency drinking water supplies for certain communities hard hit by the drought.

Yeah. . . so are dollars supposed to magically turn into water?
We’re in a drought; you need to pay more money.

That isn’t what the article or legislation says at all.

Yes, but making ridiculous exaggerations is what some people love to do, cosa. It keeps them off the streets.

Dog. Los Angeles just saw 4-6 inches of rain fall on their city and they have no collection system for it. It simply drains into the LA River/Drain and empties into Long Beach. Perhaps, they might consider collection barrels under roof drain pipes or something, my Aunt used them ages ago for her Roses. Yep, a drop in the barrel, but Southern Cal (and Vegas) has to come to the realization that the Colorado River is going dry. I still say wave driven reverse osmosis desalination is a prospect.

I would not mock Sacrificial Son of Angry Sky Man. For Angry Sky Man has been known to withhold water, or drown people in epic flood events, over very petty grievances.

It is neither Jesus nor Christ that I mock…It is the people who claim to follow him but exclude others from worldly charity and justice. Them I mock.

But Tahoe plants miles of new turf close to the lake because it looks pretty next to the bike trail.
