El Niño could bring wet weather to Calif.
By Tony Barboza, Los Angeles Times
U.S. government forecasters say odds are increasing that El Niño, an ocean-warming pattern that alters weather across the globe, will develop later this year.
Conditions in the eastern tropical Pacific have shifted enough that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Thursday activated its alert system to issue an official El Niño watch.
The alert means that meteorologists now believe El Niño, a natural cycle that occurs every two to seven years, has a more than a 50 percent chance of forming by the summer or fall.
Impossible. This contradicts the Global Warming narrative, and we can’t have that now, can we?
We have been in an el nino pattern for weeks.
There is NOTHING about an El Nino that disagrees with the Climate Change narrative as you call it.
Hey Bitter. Says “ocean warming” pattern called El Nino. So, where have all the glaciers gone while the oceans have risen 8 inches over the past 100 years? Whey is Greenland loosing about 50 cubic miles of water each year; sometimes as much as 120 cubic miles? It sure ain’t cause it’s getting cooler. The past few years and decades have been the warmest on record. Global Warming is not a narrative, its called Science. You know, sort of like that Science they used to make Atomic Bombs and such with.
@Clinger…no it doesn’t.
Let’s have a candid discussion about Global Warming – it’s not only a hoax, a farce, a scam, but the intent of the narrative is to de-industrialize the United States and western civilization. The Global Warming scam is easily debunked; all you need to do is follow the money.
AB:
Define climate.
31,487 scientists have signed a petition outright rejecting the Global Warming hoax. The debate is over.
You fell for that? Of course you did.
http://chriscolose.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/one-more-petition-still-a-consensus/
A highlight:
” I did a quick survery of these “scientists” and report as follows:
Of 60 samples (including 54 phD’s), there were a grand total of **zero publications** behind the sampled signatories that were relevant to climate or climate change. ***None**** has specific background in meteorology, climatology, oceanography, etc and just two with a geology background (including one who is now deceased).”
Of course it goes in to more detail. And it just gets worse.
There is no scientific debate on anthropologic influence of warming climate because no legitimate climate scientist questions that man actions are warming the plate. The only hoax is that man isn’t influencing climate.
Ever noticed how ‘skeptics’ can’t define climate?
In a recent Gallup poll conducted March 6 – 9, Americans ranked Global Warming at the bottom of a list of issues they’re concerned with. In fact, Global Warming ranked 14 of 15 issues surveyed last week, with only 24% of those polled even believing that Global Warming was real.
The economy, federal spending, and the size and scope of government topped Americans’ worries.
Gee, what a surprise.
This just in…the earth is NOT flat. It still amazes me how some people are so committed to remaining willfully ignorant. The majority of Americans are delusional about science, economics and religion. An opinion and a scientific fact are not equal in ‘value’. As one of them posted, when attempting to be candid….follow the money.
So AB, you don’t have any science to bring to the table. Science doesn’t happen in Gallup polls, you half-wit. Last time you tried, you were caught plagiarizing from a bogus pseudoscience blog.
You still can’t define climate.
Typical scientifically illiterate denier BS.
Meanwhile, in Florida’s 13th congressional district, the liberal democrat lost yesterday’s special election to a republican who was painted as a climate change denier. In fact, you couldn’t turn on the television without Global Warming alarmism besieging David Jolly. It didn’t matter, as the voters saw through that sham and handed Alex Sink, the liberal environmental Democrat favorite, a stinging defeat.
Sticking ones head in the sand and seeing through a (supposed) sham are two separate things. People are far more willing to believe lies if it means they keep getting to do what they want to without negative consequences.
I am no fan of al gore, rather i think generally poorly of the man and how he presented himself in Inconvenient Truth. However, the title was appropriate because anthropogenic effects on climate are an inconvenient truth. We are uncomfortable accepting that American lifestyle is playin a role, all of the public may not believe it and may not find it as important as pop culture. But the scientific concensus is universal that we are influencing climate. End of story
Still no science from AB.
Still can’t define climate.
Still ignorant.
AB. You say “follow the money to prove climate change hoax.” You act as if Scientist, Physicists, Doctors & Mathematicians are out the “game” some “system.” For what end? And where do your fossil fuel pals get their money? From selling more of their product? I would remind you that the fossil fuel industry has a history of “gaming” their prices and commodities markets. ENRON ring a bell?
