Nev. may regulate elk, deer antler collection

CARSON CITY — There’s gold in them thar antlers, and as a result, the Nevada Department of Wildlife is looking at regulating the growing practice of “shed hunting” to protect the state’s deer and elk populations.
Deer and elk shed their antlers every winter and collecting them has become a lucrative pastime for some and an outdoor recreational activity for others.
The antlers are used in a variety of ways, including as chandeliers, furniture or other decorative items.
Yeah, we just don’t have enough rules yet in Nevada. Let’s make up some more. Doesn’t matter if they’re necessary or not, as long as we can fine people for disobeying them, that’s what really counts.
Dog, give it a rest…
This is about revenue generation, not much else. Might be used to hire more people, I can see that people will not “be out” looking for antlers if asked.
Justice elk and deer drop their antlers in February sometime. The harshest month of winter. So morons go look for the wintering herds and run them off to see if there any sheds. That kills animals.
I was ready to post something about how weird lawmakers are. But, after reading the article, my fellow citizens are even weirder. Perhaps lawmakers come from that population.
Nothing here folks; move on to a real controversy. Although I’ll stick with “weird,” I’ll just expand it to cover everyone involved.
