S. Tahoe annual parking permits for sale
South Lake Tahoe is selling parking pass permits to residents.
Permits will allow residents to park in city-designated residential permit areas as well as in areas where paid parking kiosks exist. Passes do not include the garage at Heavenly Village.
Permits are available to people in the 96150 through 96158 ZIP codes, 89448 and 89449 ZIP codes.
The cost is $40. It is valid Monday through Friday, and good for the calendar year. No refunds will be issued if the paid parking program is changed or terminated.
Passes may be purchased at:
- City Administration Offices: 1901 Airport Road
- City Services Center: 1052 Tata Lane
- Recreation Complex: 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.
- Police Department: 1352 Johnson Blvd.
No thanks! I’ll wait for the election in June to get rid of the meters.
Like anyone is going to rush down and buy one of these permits with the future of the program up in the air.
Without that uncertainty, I would buy one. Had this been available initially, none of this backlash would have happened.
Seriously? Tax-paying residents have to PAY for permits to park on their own city streets? Are you kidding me? It’s a month early for April Fools….
Two things have remained constant through this flawed parking program, 1) the majority of the money comes from parking tickets and 2) the residents (80%) don’t want it.
The number of areas and neighborhoods affected has been reduced to 2 now which will earn less money.
The money derived from issuing tickets will go down.
Locals, but not 2nd homeowners, can buy a pass to avoid the kiosks on weekdays.
Just get out and vote YES on June 3rd to return our town to being TAHOE.
All this crying about the ghetto town this and the trashy town that, but NOBODY wants to step up and pay a little to keep things nice. What kind do ‘TAHOE’ do you want?
I pay four different property tax bills in this town and I would still step up and pay $40 towards a parking permit if it would help maintain our towns resources.
I want this town to keep improving. Everybody needs to put their money where their mouth is and buck up now and then.
Hopefully after the June election, this $40 parking pass will be a pass to nowhere, and more simply just another pimple on the chin of a confused, misguided, clueless bureaucracy.
Still want to know about the pass for workers in the affected areas (who work weekends!). Can’t wait til they’re gone.
