• Bona Fide Books in Meyers is hosting a Letterpress Printing Class on April 27 from 10am-4pm. Letterpress printer Steve Robison will teach a hands-on introduction to the world of letterpress printing. • Truckee High School baseball coach Mike Ellis’ memorial service is April 14 at 2pm at the Assumption Catholic Church, 10930 Alder Drive, Truckee. A tribute at FiftyFifty Brewing Co. in Truckee will follow. Ellis died last weekend of an apparent heart attack. He was 43.
• Marcus Ashley Fine Art Gallery in South Lake Tahoe presents “Hats Off to Dr. Seuss” from May 17-June 22 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’s second book “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins”. Dr. Seuss’s never-before-seen hat collection will be exhibited those dates at 4000 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
• Former Kirkwood Mountain Resort chef Chris Eversole is one of the 20 chefs chosen as a contestant for the 12th season of “Hell’s Kitchen,” a cooking reality program.
