If turf reduction is so important how come we planted miles of it along Hwy 50?

The turf buy back program offered by STPUD is a good thing all the way around. Just be careful who you mention it to. I brought it up to my neighbor trying to help him out and he went ballistic. He parks on his lawn, it’s mostly all dead as his 5 vehicles all leak fluids, and when I told him he could get paid by tearing up the grass and putting in native plants he went nuts. Yelling and screaming at me. The weird thing is I went over with some helpful suggestions trying to help the guy out, I was very nice about it, but he totaly turned it around. Very strange and infuriating to say the least. So while it’s a good program I would caution those that talk to unstable neighbors.
To learn about this program call STPUD at 543-6268 and the nice lady will give you the information. Conserve water and keep your distance from the nuts!
    Take care , OLS
