Due to the drought and the threat of large damaging wildfires, beginning June 1 the Amador-El Dorado and Nevada-Yuba-Placer units of CalFrie will suspend dooryard burning permits.

CalFire has responded to twice as many wildfires than average and it is anticipated that fire season will only continue to get worse.

Anyone who burns on or after June 1 in these areas may be subject to civil or criminal action including cost recovery charges for a fire suppression response.
