Zephyr Cove Resort is a popular historic spot at Lake Tahoe. Originally it was privately owned, but now it is operated under contract with the U.S. Forest Service.

Part of the beach and pier at Zephyr Cove are seen here, 50 years apart.

Today, the smaller boats tether to the other side of the pier, while the large M.S. Dixie II paddle-wheeler docks at the end. A long sandy beach extends to the right of each photo.
