• Freedom Day came six days later than last year. Tax Freedom Day, calculated annually by the Tax Foundation, is the day Americans have earned enough money to pay their annual tax obligations at the federal, state and local levels. This year’s national Tax Freedom Day was April 21.

• South Tahoe Association of Realtors contributed almost $1,000 to purchase individual Easter baskets that were donated to Live Violence Free and the South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center.

• California drought – How will we be affected in Truckee-Tahoe? is the subject of the May 13 Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce meeting. The meeting is from 7-8:30am at the Truckee airport.
