Credit union opening branch in S. Lake Tahoe

Sierra Central Credit Union will be opening a branch in South Lake Tahoe in September.

A company representative said they are hoping to hire four people locally.

The branch will be located in the shopping center on the corner of Ski Run Boulevard and Highway 50.

It will serve members acquired in the recent acquisition of 49er Federal Credit Union.

“We are planning to expand member eligibility to everyone who lives or works within 25 miles of the new branch,” Pam Sweeney, with the credit union, told Lake Tahoe News.
