California Tahoe Conservancy is ready to go forward with improving access to the former Tahoe Pines Campground and improving the grounds along the Upper Truckee River on Highway 50 in Meyers.

The Conservancy plans to restore and protect the natural floodplain and riparian habitat of the 8.5-acre site, while providing picnic tables, benches, hiking trails or other compatible amenities.

Comments on the draft environmental document are being taken until June 13.

More info is online.

Now wait a cotton pickin’ minute. Did anybody run this by the “real” Meyers community planners first? Could be Gubment intrusion and such or that “Cat-list” bunch tryin’ to pull a fast one.

Today is Sat. June 7th and they want comments by June 13th, ONE WEEK????? This is a push come to shove issue, watch out.

Just how far are these hiking trails going to go.
I guess if they make the trail around the 8 acres it would serve some purpose.

I assume CTC will clean up after everyone??
Lots of questions to be addressed.
