An El Dorado County teenager drowned in the American River on Friday.

Ronald Stewart, 15, of Garden Valley was pulled from the Middle Fork of the river near Cherokee Bar about 11am June 13. He was not about to be resuscitated.

He had been swimming in that area earlier.

An autopsy is pending.
