Full moon hike with Nevada parks rangers

Nevada State Parks is putting on an evening hike along the Deadman’s Creek trail to watch the sunset and moonrise. The July 12 full moon is a “super moon,” which means the moon is at its closest point to the earth.

This will be a two-mile moderate hike that is limited to 30 participants; reservations are required. Call 775.687.4319 or email washoelake@hdiss.net to reserve your spot. Submit your name, phone number and the number of people.

Wear sturdy hiking shoes. Participants should also bring water, a camera and a flashlight. Dogs are allowed on this hike, but must remain on a leash.

The event is from 8:30-10:30pm. Meeting location will be made known upon registration.
