Anderson wins ESPY award for Olympic prowess

Jamie Anderson was named Best Female U.S. Olympian, Best Female Action Sports Athlete at the 22nd annual ESPYS in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Anderson, who rides for Sierra-at-Tahoe and lives in Meyers, scored a near-perfect 95.25 on her final run to win the inaugural women’s snowboard slopestyle at the Sochi Olympics.

Fellow Olympian and Meyers resident Maddie Bowman was also nominated, as was David Wise of Reno.

ESPN’s annual sports awards recognize the best athletes and moments in sports in the last year.
