Massive mackinaw caught at Lake Tahoe
Alan Steel of Greenwich, Conn., reeled in this 23-pound mackinaw from Lake Tahoe this morning.
He was out on the lake early July 2 with Mile High Fishing Charter. Capt. Joby Cefalu was at the helm.

catching non-native stocked fish is nothing special, it was only massive because it has no natural predators in the lake.
Joby Cefalu and Alan Steel, Congratulations on catching that BIG mackinaw! What a monster!!!
I caught a 10 pounder a few years back and when we finally got it onboard and it was floppin’ around on the rear deck, it scared my dog so bad he ran down the stairs and hopped up on the v-berth in the cabin of the Bayliner! Poor ole’ dog never saw such a big damn fish, nor had I ever caught a fish of that size.
A 23 pounder! Congratulations again, Joby and Alan!

B.C.- Why be negative? Great fish! Good Catch!
BC, obviously you are too cool to waste your time raining on another’s parade…so why are you? Either get your own life to critique or let the rest of the world enjoy ours. Ever heard of the word a p o l o g y.
Alan, great catch! 23 pounds, WOW! We are all proud of you, especially me, the person who is writing this post. Can you guess who is writing this comment? It is your own son, Thomas! Anyway, great catch and we are all very proud of you.
Too cool!!! Congrats on the catch.
