S. Tahoe Denny’s dealing with electrical issue
Updated July 30 7:24am:
Late dinners were interrupted at Denny’s in South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday night.
An electrical problem caused the restaurant to shut its doors and evacuate diners just after 9pm July 29. The power was turned off.
“An electrical short occurred last night in a breaker panel. The fire department shut it down. A private electrician must now repair is, so Denny’s is closed without power until that occurs,” Fire Chief Jeff Meston told Lake Tahoe News on Wednesday.
No one at Denny’s was answering the phone Tuesday night.

Electrical problem that brought every fire engine and ambulance, and what looked like plenty representation from every law enforcement agency on the California side.
This happens all the time at the top of High Meadow Trl.
what a waste…3-4 Big fire engines,3 Red (1 green forest engine)a Police car, sometimes 2, 2 motorcycle cops, and they chat for few minutes and then leave
They never go up into the forest just wait at the dead end street?????????????????
Everything is tinder dry. If there is even a possibility of a fire, I totally support them sending every single emergency response staff person in a 100 mile radius.
I was a wildland fire fighter and we were always being dispatched to one possible fire or emergency. Sometimes there was a fire, sometimes not. It was always a good practice for the crews to be on standby. It was better than just sitting around waiting. Keeping your skills honed is a good thing for emergency response. If there is no emergency, all the better.
