Super moon illuminates night sky
The super moon has been filling the night sky.
This moon, which is the closest to Earth compared to any other time of year, will be at its fullest on Sunday night. This will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year.
The moon rise is expected at 8:12pm Aug. 10.
The big ball in the sky is obscuring the Perseid meteors. However, the meteor shower is expected to peak Aug. 11, so it’s possible it can be seen in the Tahoe sky as the moon diminishes.
