Fire destroys mobile home in S. Lake Tahoe
A fire Saturday night destroyed a mobile home on Melba Drive in South Lake Tahoe.
“It will be red tagged by the building department. He won’t be able to live in that,” fire Capt. Jon Anderson told Lake Tahoe News. “If it is not taken down, he would have to gut the thing completely.”
Anderson said between 30 and 40 percent of the structure was damaged by fire, while the rest sustained heavy smoke damage.
No one was home when the fire erupted Sept. 13. However, a cat died in the fire.
Firefighters will be at the scene today to try to determine the cause of the fire.
No other structures were threatened.
Lake Valley firefighters assisted South Tahoe crews.
