A house in Truckee received moderate fire damage Nov. 17.

The cause of the Jeffrey Way fire in Prosser Lakeview Estates is still under investigation.

“Remember to have working smoke detectors along with carbon monoxide detectors, clean your chimney prior to use. Store your used ashes in metal container placed on the ground away from any combustible material,” Truckee fire officials said in a statement.
