Former coffee magnate’s Tahoe home on market
By Candace Taylor, Wall Street Journal
A home on Lake Tahoe with more than 600 feet of sandy beach is seeking $34.5 million.
The property was once owned by the family that founded Hills Bros. Coffee.
In 1998, real-estate investors Carole and Robert McNeil purchased 5 acres for $10 million, and have since added to the property. The McNeils tore down the original house and built a bigger home around 2001.
Wow ! Is this really “news worthy”
Seems like free advertising ???
It may be free advertising, but it should be a heads up to the to the Forest Service, League to Save Lake Tahoe, TRPA, Conservancy, State of CA Parks, etc. to start negotiations to buy it for public use.
600′ of sandy beach sounds like another wonderful public beach. That is two football fields of beach. Our government needs to buy it!! And yes we need to tax ourselves and pay for it.
Aloha
I just found the location.
It straddles the state line at north shore.
Listed by Chase.
Someone will be paying for the name! Inflated price.
Who cares? That’s their business, not ours.
