Letter: Council candidates urge people to vote
To the community,
Today is the day you shape our city’s future. With your vote, choosing three members for our City Council, you will speak on issues from economic development and the environment to jobs and the way we care for families and children. You have seven candidates to choose from, each proposing a path to move our city forward.
We thank you for engaging with us through four candidate forums, numerous press interviews, endorsements, coffees, fundraisers, phone calls and door knocks. You’ve seen our signs, watched or read our ads. By now you know that all seven candidates have a passion and love for our community. We share a desire to create jobs and continue to be good stewards to our beloved Lake Tahoe and basin.
As candidates, we focused on our messages, sharing our vision for the future of our city. Unlike many political campaigns, we displayed respect for each other and pledge to continue working for the betterment of South Lake Tahoe no matter the outcome of today’s vote.
We now join together to ask for you to vote today. Choose South Lake Tahoe’s future, be one of the decision-makers. It’s your vote; please use it. Last but not least, for those of you who have already cast your ballot by mail, thank you.
We did our part as candidates and now it is up to you.
Thank you,
Angela Swanson, Wendy David, Tom Davis, Bruce Grego, Austin Sass, Matt Palacio, Brooke Laine
Each of you has shown a passion for trying to help move our community forward in a positive direction. Although there are differences on how to accomplish that goal, no one can deny helping our community is shared by each and everyone of you.
I will be voting today for the three candidates that I feel will make the tough decisions needed to improve the city of South Lake Tahoe.
Hal Cole and JoAnn Conner just need one more council member agreeing with them to keep things the same. Three votes on any issue will determine policy. Is it time for a change? It is becoming curiouser and curiouser!
Good luck and thank you to each of the candidates.
Please everyone, voice your opinion and vote today.
nothing will change by voting any of these folks into office.
the other option should have been None of the Above.
Well then, Chief Slowroller, perhaps you should have run for office ….
Observer, he has before. Didn’t fare so well.
Thank you to all the candidates for being positive examples of an engaged community.
