Thousands of people lined the streets of Carson City to watch the Nevada Day Parade on Nov. 1.

This was no ordinary parade. It was the culmination of a year’s worth of partying for the Silver State, which turned 150 on Oct. 31.

Much of its history was represented in floats — including the Virginia City contingent dressed in Old West garb and firing off guns.

Plenty of politicians — current, soon to be termed out and wannabes marched along.

The day started with drizzle and cold temps, but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of those in the parade or those watching.
