Vincent Francis Campodonico Jr. — 1931-2014
A photograph hangs in our father’s home – Needham Grammar School, Lodi, California, class of 1944, 120 kids from a different time. Amazingly, dad could name a fair number of those classmates 70 years later.
A teacher for 25 years, the ex-students of South Tahoe High School will remember having Mr. Campodonico for history or civics.
Vince held an optimistic belief in society and citizenship that he practiced all life long. He was always planning a trip, back from a trip or on a trip. Vince enjoyed people and would want us to say his goodbyes to his friends and family.
We can’t thank dad enough for the great life he provided us; the love and care he gave us. We will try to be extensions of his integrity the rest of our lives.
We will have a celebration of life at a later date. Send a card to the family home at 1511 Seminole Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 and let us know if you wish to be notified or any other sentiments or questions you may have.
Dad willed his body to UCSF School of Medicine in 1959, an educator to the end.
With love,
Vince’s family
To the Camppodonica family, Sorry for your loss. Vince was one of my STHS teachers. A good guy! A good teacher! My condolences, your Vince taught me well. Sincerely,Bob Rockwell
“We will try to be extensions of his integrity the rest of our lives”… Your dad is beaming at that statement, and proud of the values he imparted to you! What a wonderful legacy he left.
Awesome man. Awesome family. Rest in peace Vince
Godspeed Vince, I’ve only known son Bruce, but he exhudes the qualities you have taught.
oh yes: bruce shines on. RIP, vince
The Campodonico family and the Shirts family have been friends for fifty-two years. I will miss Vince, a steadfast friend I could always count on. He and my husband, Gordon Shirts, taught together for many years in the Social Studies Department at South Tahoe High School. Vince was generous to the causes he believed in and true to the beliefs he held. I will miss him and our always interesting conversations and discussions.
I remember many good times. Rest in peace, Vince
There was a Campodonico family living in the Morada District between Stockton and Lodi where my family lived when I was in grammar school. I wonder if this was the same family. I went to Davis School on Hwy 99, not far from Hildreth Lane where we lived.
To all of you commenting, Thank You! What a gift you have given us.
Laura, Vince was an only child, raised in South Lodi. I believe his was the only Campodonico family in that area in the 30’s and 40’s. Send us a card and we could correspond, figure out if it is the same.
Kae Reed, again, thank you so much.

The last time I spoke with Vince, he and Nancy were planning their next adventure–We will truly miss you Vince–talk God up a little, you have every reason to be up there. Much love and condolences to the entire Campodonico family.
I didn’t know Bruce but my grandmother’s house in Lodi was around the corner from Needham School. My parents went to school there. After the school was closed my brother and I used to walk over there and play on the old plyground equipment that was left there. It was a beautiful site with nice old trees.

We were so sad to hear of your dad dying. Our regrets are that we had not seen him in so many years. Our memories of sharing margaritas together live on. He will forever be in our hearts. Wendy and Rob Bitner
What a great man. He will truly be missed. Many good memories with him and his family. RIP
