Barton conducting phone survey

image_pdfimage_print

If someone calls asking questions about Barton Health, it’s not a scam.

Barton is conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment survey by phone. The assessment is done every three years. The results will guide Barton Health and other local health and human service agencies on what is considered the community’s most pressing health needs.

The survey takes between 20 and 25 minutes and is anonymous. Respondents will be asked in detail about their health history. The survey is conducted by a third party from out of the area to ensure privacy of personal information. Responses will be compiled and only used for the assessment.

They’ve gotta be nuts. Who, in this day and age, is dumb enough to spend 25 minutes answering health questions to an unsolicited caller?

I’ve gradually moved my health care business away from Barton, mostly because of their incompetent billing department. But this call sounds like a pretty quick hang-up to me. I’m not even polite to these callers any more.

Incompetent billing departments are everywhere; Cable, Dish, Cell Phones, Credit Cards etc. However, I can drive down to Barton and find a human being instead of a computerized voice system.

Not meaning to send this thread elsewhere, but I’ve always been happy with my Direct TV contacts – somewhat tempered by the size of the bill.

Not only did this unknown, unsolicited caller represent that she was calling “on behalf of Barton Health”, asking very personal health questions that Barton, my health provider, already has on file, but inconsiderately called during the middle of the dinner hour.

Only a complete fool would have continued the conversation, and some would have good reason to discontinue their relationship with Barton Health altogether.

I received the call and after 15 minutes I asked how much longer. The lady said we are half done. That’s when I hung up.
You are not anonymous, why would you believe that? Just because they say so.
The questions were intrusive and none of their business. Big hospital looking out for your best interests I’m sure.
How many tens of thousands are they spending on this?
    Glad I have the VA.
BTW, the people calling sure sounded phony but as I said I went along with it for 15 minutes.
