Kerr’s new company on EDC supes’ agenda

El Dorado County’s former assistant chief administrative officer is back – at least on Tuesday’s agenda.

The Board of Supervisors on Jan. 27 is being asked to approve a contract with Alliant Insurance Services to provide employee benefit consulting for the Risk Division of the Human Resources Department.

While there is already a contract in place, this would extend it to Jan. 31, 2016, and increase the not to exceed amount from $100,000 to $610,000.

Kim Kerr, the No. 2 for the county, left in December not long after her boss was told to leave by the Board of Supes.

The connection to Tuesday’s agenda item is that Kerr now works for Alliant. And while she was with the county she was the one who handled the contract with Alliant.

Crony capital case? The criminal Grand Jury should be looking into all actions and contracts of this crew and especially Kerr and Daly and their former crony supporters on the BOS who appointed them and appear to have not supervised them and their actions while a lot of things that don’t pass the smell test went on.

Does anyone really need to tell the Sups to reject this extension ? Why does the amount need to go up 6 times ? Oh yeah, thanks Norma !

Why wasn’t this apparent conflict noted in the Board’s packet? Why wasn’t Supervisor Sue and the public told about this in writing 72 hours in advance?

    Please Sups,
Take a step toward sanity and, if you extend this contract, insert a clause that Kerr has nothing to do with the EDCO program.

There is no shortage of firms like this one who do not have a smelly history with ex employees of the County.
Kae’s fan asks a great question, which deserves an answer.

What is this country coming to when an ex-official can’t get a job with a company that she dealt with as an official?
All too many ex-pols and other high ranking government officials get jobs as lobbyists or consultants with the same companies and people they dealt with as government employees.
