Placerville hotel construction moving forward

A SpringHill Suites hotel project in Placerville that had a site plan approved years ago but went dormant after the economic downturn is again moving forward.
The 124-room hotel proposal won approval in January 2010, but at the time the country was in the midst of the financial crisis. The crisis also wiped out much of the lodging market with declines in leisure and corporate travel. Hotel business in Northern California is now making new construction viable again.
Forni Business Park LLC is a partnership that proposes the hotel on 3.3 acres on the west side of town just off Highway 50.
