Reid says he won’t seek re-election

WASHINGTON — Senator Harry Reid, the tough tactician who has led Senate Democrats since 2005, will not seek re-election next year, bringing an end to a three-decade congressional career that culminated with his push of President Obama’s ambitious agenda against fierce Republican resistance.
Reid, 75, who suffered serious eye and facial injuries in a Jan. 1 exercise accident at his Las Vegas home, said he had been contemplating retiring from the Senate for months. He said his decision was not attributable either to the accident or to his demotion to minority leader after Democrats lost the majority in November’s midterm elections.
“I understand this place,” Reid said. “I have quite a bit of power as minority leader.”
He has already confounded the new Republican majority this year by holding Democrats united against a proposal to gut the Obama administration’s immigration policies as well as a human-trafficking measure Democrats objected to over an anti-abortion provision.
“I want to be able to go out at the top of my game,” said Reid, who used a sports metaphor about athletes who try to hang on too long. “I don’t want to be a 42-year-old trying to become a designated hitter.”
If LA Liberals had not invaded southern Nevada, he would never have been elected to anything. In my opinion, he has to be one of the most corrupt people to ever have the luck to not be serving life in prison for organized crimes and influence sales. Because of the corruption throughout this current administration he will likely not be investigated as just like in the Clinton-Gore days, there are currently a nearly unlimited number of other major crimes, conspiracies, and cover-ups to investigate. And serious ones, like those surrounding Mrs. Clinton and her thousands of lost, and well hidden, emails and private server that the US House is working on finding and they will all be on-going for the next several years. Harry wants to duck out the door while the House isn’t looking at him and his land swindles.
Ya justanass, we all know how you could have been a better politician than any one out there. Your armchair critiques of all things liberal or democratic or forward thinking are as old as your god. We get that you are a disgrunteled and frustrated tea bag. Whaaaaaaaaa……………
USA has the highest rate of people incarcerated per capita than any other nation, however that is not near enough for inJustice…I’m guessing he was an Auschwitz guard in a past life, or one of Samoza’s goons. No great fan of Reid, but seriously, your venom is really misplaced. Dang.

And hmmm….reid should be in prison as well as hillary, rove, bush, obama, all the bankers that brought the economy down and got rich off of it and so many other traitorous lying crooks.

Poor Ol’ Harry, he was apparently assaulted by an “exercise machine” that gave him a real beating. Sounds legit and he would never lie, right? I guess when you steal and lie enough, something will reach out and get your attention some times. I wouldn’t be surprised this “machine” had two legs and walked upright. This on top of his Chinese connections and land swindles, just aren’t capable of being hidden all of the time and his number for an investigation would come up at some point and those federal prison gates just might swing open and swallow him up as they should.
Harry grew up poor without a toilet or hot water and he was an Amateur Boxer… want to go a few rounds against him Just@ss?

Rocks4brains is a real case of lobotomy. Now it thinks Harry is a tough guy. Harry had his eyes blackened and rear whipped by an “exercise machine.” The truth really hurts for Harry and his brainless supporters. He is gone and should be indicted for federal crimes.
Rock is what i like to call a know it all. You can tell when he gets home from work and goes on a better than everyone blogfest. I am guessing the kid isnt much more than 20, works at a mediocre job with no real future. His coworkers cant stand him because he knows it all, he has no kids, let alone a girlfriend. But oh baby when he gets home he avoids his roomates, goes straight to his room and hops on the internet, because there, at least half the people listen to him and the other half cant beat his @ss. So he is king for bit. The irony of it rock, reality catches up to all of us, you might want to live there more.

Justice, I rarely let myself engage in attacking a person for their comments on this forum, although I have argued points made, but your comments as they pertain to Harry Reid and his injuries are what I consider so guttersnipe (as your hero Bill O’Reilly would call it) that I cannot let it pass. Not only is Harry Reid more of a man than you will EVER be at the age of 75, he has accomplished more for this country AND his home state of Nevada than ANY member of the Nevada GOP has since statehood was bestowed upon it in October of 1864!
