In my opinion, it is improper for the Chamber to question the legality of a counsel decision regarding the conflict of interest. There is now representation, just not the hand-picked and conflicted one that they want. The Meyers Roundtable has never had any official capacity. What is the motivation to change that? This doesn’t pass the smell test.

dumbfoundfed: You are correct on the representation part, we are still represented, what we lost was the voting power on the BOS with concerns to the Meyers Area Plan. I am not comfortable with the decisions of the future of Meyers in the hands of Placerville. Meyers board was and is supposed to have official powers soon according to all the meetings I attended. We were supposed to either vote for a Meyers board or they would be appointed by the BOS. I do not think there will be an election so they will be appointed by the 4 BOS as District V supervisor cannot be involved or vote. Once again, I am not comfortable with the decisions of the future of Meyers in the hands of Placerville. If we are going to either screw up or move up I would like that decision to be ours. As far as the South Tahoe Chamber choice of hand pick candidate they did not have one nor did they choose in public or officially. As far as the other chamber they spent over $30K on flyers for their endorsed candidates. My opinion only.

Welcome to South Lake Tahoe Titiam and Raia! The Sno-Flake has a long history here. I’ll have to come in for a burger and check out the place that I went to years ago. Lots of memories there for me.
Good Luck in your new business!
Old Long Skiis(or that skinny kid from the intermediadte school in the 1960’s who went there ALOT!).

I like the Snowflake and hope they make it. Now that Old Long Skies brings it up how come we don’t see more kids there?

Sunriser2. We used to go to The Sno- Flake and buy Pixie Sticks which were like a straw filled with flavored sugar that you sucked out. Strange looking back on it but that’s what we did.
I wish the new owners good luck and happy hamburgers!
Old Long French Fries or OLS if you prefer.

I had a burger from there last night. It was only okay and a little over priced for what it was. They charge over eight bucks for a half pound burger made from pre formed patties. Their milkshakes and freezes are over five bucks apiece. The kids working there were nice and the new owners were hanging out at a table in the back.
Overall, I would say Izzy’s is currently a better choice for a good burger in town. IMHO.

Hard to start a new business in this town. Very expensive. Between the purchase price, the regulatory expenses, the wage laws, the food costs, I don’t know how anybody does it. I worked restaurants for almost 30 years. People who haven’t done it have no idea how slim the profit margins are. And with beef at record high prices right now, I’m not surprised those burgers cost a lot.
No wonder all the fast food chains are pushing chicken these days!

Dry burgers, soggy fries. Lucky beav is the only place in town that gets it right.
