• Douglas County dispatch recently achieved its accreditation for emergency medical dispatch from the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch. Douglas County 911 is the first all-risk center in Nevada to achieve accreditation for medical dispatch.

• Truckee officials approved a new look and name for the town’s transit – Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit.

• On May 2 from 1-pm and 2:303:30pm is Young Chautauqua at Nevada State Museum, 600 N. Carson St., Carson City. Young performers will bring historical characters to life: meet Osa Johnson, Robert Baden-Powell, John Muir, Amelia Earhart, Anne Frank, and Coco Chanel. Cost is $8 for adults; free for museum members and ages 17 and under.
