Letter: Memorial Day remembrance
To the community,
Timmy Smith touched so many lives and always made you smile when he entered a room. Timmy loved to make you laugh and also was proud to serve his country. Timmy was always a protector to all.
You will never be forgotten — Sept. 20, 1982-April 7, 2008.
Forever on our hearts.
Love,
The Smith family, South Lake Tahoe
Note: Sgt. Timothy M. Smith, 25, of South Lake Tahoe died April 7, 2008, in Baghdad from wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
Thank you for reminding us on this Memorial Day weekend that many families have paid the ultimate price for this nation. Even 8 years passing cannot fill the void that is left when one loses a son, daughter, father, mother, sister or a brother. Let’s all remember why Monday is a holiday (holy-day).
Well said Isee.
Patti I look at Timmy everyday on the wall in my office, I thank him all the time, his sacrifice is a constant reminder that liberty isn’t cheap.
Everybody gave something, and some gave everything.
Never Forget. Never Forgotten.
Timmy’s death happened five days after my son was released from the Marines. It really hit me hard when I went to see Patti at her home and she said to me “they were supposed to come home”. Timmy, you will always remembered.
