Memorial Day DUI enforcement nets 4 arrests

The Memorial Day Weekend Avoid the 6 – DUI Campaign resulted in four arrests.

Nine special DUI patrols and officers on routine patrol focused special attention on impaired drivers for four days.

In 2014, there were zero DUI arrests occurred during the Memorial Day weekend.

South Lake Tahoe police, El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers were part of the enforcement team.

    Nine patrols net four arrests? A boy scout with a whistle and a sharp stick could bag a couple dozen on any summer weekend. Hundreds if not thousands drive fifty MPH down side streets to avoid law enforcement on their way back from the hwy 89 beaches, bars and camp grounds.

    At least they didn’t set up more DUI check points on HWY 50. They make for great photo ops!!
