U.S. imperialism and El Salvador topic of lecture
Raul E. Moreno Campos, a doctoral candidate and teaching fellow at UCLA’s Department of Political Science, will be at Lake Tahoe Community College on May 26 at noon to give a presentation on State-Sponsored Violence, U.S. Imperialism, and the Salvadoran Civil War.
Campos will share a historical and political analysis of the development of the Salvadoran military regime, and the onset, development, and resolution of the Salvadoran Civil War. He’ll explore the role that the U.S. government played in this process, including the sending of military advisors from U.S. Special Forces, and their training and sponsorship of the Salvadoran military.
Campos was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, and lived there throughout the entirety of the Salvadoran Civil War (1979-92).
The free talk will be in the board room at LTCC.
Skip this leftist re-write of history. This isn’t worth a minute of wasted time.
Who would you rather listen to, an educated doctoral candidate from UCLA or some idiot blog poster?
I suggest relying on academics over folks who hide under rocks.

Rick
I suggest talking to people from El Salvador. I know a couple who live here in South Lake, and who lived there during the Civil War.
You’ll find in their words things that support both liberal and conservative views of history and US involvement in their country.
The point being, you can have someone interpret history for you. Or best whenever possible, to do your own research!
Justice…please do tell us more.
We all know the UC system in this state brainwashes people into liberalism.
Just@ss & Kit want the John Wayne version of El Salvador :)
Ohhh yeah guys we should definitely listen to “Kit’s Carson” over here. Instead of receiving a higher education, just follow in his footsteps and waste your life posting idiotic comments on the Lake Tahoe news everyday. Ohhh yeah, it is important to jump to the most irrational conclusions by posting comments that begin with “we all know…” if we want to be like “Kit’s Carson”. Your level of intellect is just simply laughable and pathetic. I hope you receive the help and education that you need Mr. “Kit’s Carson”.
GFK: I think you should put your meth pipe down. You make zero sense.
I wonder why higher education is incompatible with the politics of some groups.
It’s not incompatible with the groups you think it is; it’s simply the definition of the word, “education” that is different.
What you call education, appears more like indoctrination to some.
You are anti-science, so whatever group you are from is incompatible with education. Why?
Only in your own mind, Prunes.
