League to Save Lake Tahoe hosting open house

On June 19, the League to Save Lake Tahoe is hosting a summer kickoff party, featuring the reopening of the Fritzi & David Huntington Environmental Education Center in South Lake Tahoe.

The center’s overhaul is designed to provide better educate and engage the public about how to protect Lake Tahoe. New exhibits will include an audio station sharing the stories of how League staff and volunteers collect water quality samples during storm events as part of the Pipe Keepers program, as well as visual displays that portray the fragility of Tahoe’s beauty.

As part of the kickoff festivities, the League will celebrate its volunteers, and its partner agencies and organizations.

    I highly recommend attending. I have been the last two years and have been impresses by how well organized and funded the event appears to be.

    I like the new face of the League. I have changed my mind about a couple of issues after talking with them.

    Also had a great time!

    Please go to the Summer Kickoff party at the League to Save Lake Tahoe building next to the 7-11 on Hwy 50 by Carson ave. It is from from 5 to 8 pm on June 19.
    Lots of new exhihbits and information about protecting our lake. Call 541-5388 for more details.
