Fire closes section of Tahoe National Forest

An emergency closure order has been issued for roads and trails in the Tahoe National Forest because of the Lowell Fire.

This order provides for fire suppression and support personnel safety, as well as public safety and resource protection.

The closure is on the south side of the Yuba River Ranger District and generally includes Tahoe National Forest lands, roads, and trails between Highway 20 and Interstate 80.
