A 19-year-old Truckee resident died in a single-vehicle accident on July 21.

Giovanni Arellano was believed to be on his way home from work when the accident occurred at about 11:30pm.

Truckee police officers said Arellano’s vehicle left the road and hit a large tree. This was in the area of Jeffery Pine Road and Alpine Fir Road in Truckee.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
