U.S. still leaves the disabled behind

Jordan Gallacher hasn’t had a job in three years. Many employers reject him with a form letter or email, but one said outright: “We don’t hire blind people.”
Gallacher, 28, is a computer expert. He has a bachelor’s degree in management and entrepreneurship from Louisiana Tech University. Yet most employers don’t give him a second glance when they learn he’s blind, even though he is able to operate a computer just fine with a screen reader.
Gallacher is one of nearly 57 million disabled people in America.
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), a civil rights act passed in 1990 to fight discrimination against the disabled.
The state of california loves people on disability, or limiting em to around $30K a year. ca. dept. of rehab in conjunction with the state college system are experts at sabotaging higher functioning people on disability so the victim can’t be gainfully employed to their full potential.
Some people claim this is a tactic the federal government uses too. People in this country can’t get along.
Perry, I wholeheartedly and respectfully disagree with you. California does NOT love people on disability. First of all the new politically correct term for people about to become disable is, “undocumented democrats.” Which leads to those in power (which party is in charge in California again?) who loved the newly found undocumented persons coming to vote them into power again.
I would leave you with this parting thought from Greece, socialists love spending other people’s money, right until it runs out.
My favorite hyperbolic partisan comments are the ones that are poorly written and riddled with typos.
Louis,
Show me a lawyer who can sue the state of ca. after I show em 20 pages of text explaining the abuse and incompetence of the ca. dept. of rehabilitation and their watchdogs, and I will believe ca. doesn’t want people on disability.
