Boat patrols rescue family, kayakers on Tahoe
A Coast Guard crew from the Tahoe City station was alerted about 9:45pm July 29 that three people were missing on Lake Tahoe.
The 31-year-old woman and her two kids were found near Meeks Bay on a raft that was quickly losing air, according to authorities. Calstar used its radar to find the three, and then the Coast Guard boat reached them.
El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department’s search and rescue team returned the family to Meeks Bay. No one was injured.
The week before, on July 22, Coasties and a Good Samaritan rescued two kayakers who were unable to get back on their vessels.
The two were near Incline Beach at approximately 3:20pm July 22 when they fell in and then began drifting apart. Neither was wearing a life jacket. Both were in good condition after being pulled to safety.

natural selection, interrupted…makes it difficult to buy into the ‘environmental movement’, eh?
Fromform. Same as kitty litter
nbl: narrow, challenged; to be pitied…
Not quite sure how a rescue on Lake Tahoe “makes it difficult to buy into the ‘environmental movement'”. Is there some secret correlation here involving kitty litter?
fromform…too bad you weren’t there with your cell phone. You coulda sold the vid to ‘whacked out sports’
FF is just being a mean a hole which makes me think he is kitty litter using a new/alternate troll name. Those types think they are so cleaver but really its very transparent…
Bat in bell: Once again, you and your judgmental self are way off base.
From. A woman and two kids are rescued in a raft and all you have to add is “natural selection, interrupted?” How sub Human of you.
Kats Cr@p. NO, I would say that From’s blogging judgement is not even from the species.
Dumb Rock: You should proof read our stupidity before posting. You really should have passed the third grade after repeating it so many times, but then again….we can’t fix stupid.
I can’t remember the number of times on Tahoe and other lakes that I or the people I was with personally assisted a disabled boater, lost or disoriented people, or similar. I also got assisted a couple times due to mechanical failure. This is just part of being in the outdoors where everything is not always predictable. A part of fun on the water, and admittedly there are often some errors committed on the part of the rescued people. But they learned.
None of these incidents need the kind ugly comments seen above.
And fanform….you make no sense at all. Are your comments meant to suggest you are so much smarter than the rest of us?
What is the matter with you people?
cg, et al: i rest my case
It’s nice to know there are perfect people like Fromform, who never make a mistake, though I gotta agree that going out on the water without a PFD is PFS.
Kats Cr@ps. Sounds like you have first hand knowledge of this “can’t fix stupid” thing. Anyway, your Teacher is calling you in from the playground now.
Rock: That’s the best you have? Rookie
Hey! It’s Kats Cr@ps responding again! Yeah!
Getting back to this thread… I, like my fellow Homo Sapiens, think that rescuing these folks is a good thing.
You want my autograph Kats?
No Rock, I barely acknowledge your existence. Use your autographs for the stupid’s.
On another note, I’m glad these unprepared people were rescued.
If kits were on fire I’d pee on them.
Not on the part that is on fire though.
