Mom killed, husband arrested in EDC crash

A solo vehicle crash in Georgetown killed a mother of two and resulted in her husband being arrested on DUI charges, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The family of four from the Georgetown area was driving about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Wentworth Springs Road, east of Quintette Court, officers said.
The father, 32, was driving their pickup when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, CHP said.
My thoughts are with the kids. My spouse was a nurse in the ER at Marshall. The guy was only as intoxicated as any of us full grown men may have been after a beer or two on a family trip. And I know you are out there so don’t judge. He has already paid his penance so let him raise his kids.
This is horrible…I don’t think there is any easy or graceful way through this for any involved. My prayers go out to all effected by this. Don’t know if I can agree with you though, bluewire. since alcohol is processed differently by different bodies, BAC’s are only a general indicator of impairment.
I’m sorry your wife had to deal with this…I know how capable ER nurses are…and I know there is an emotional cost to the job. I can’t help but wonder, though, if you would feel the same were he your son-in-law, and those kids your grandchildren. Not judging, not criticizing or blaming…just wondering out loud.
I fear the ‘penance’ will be upon him the rest of his life, regardless of any legal action or it’s outcome.
