New Zealanders win Tahoe Primal Quest contest
The GODZone Adventure racing team from New Zealand won the adventure race Primal Quest that was in part staged in Lake Tahoe.
The eight-day event had them covering 450 miles of terrain — on foot, bike and raft. Navigational skills are a must, as well as the ability rappel down cliffs with a bike, climbing to an elevation of 12,000 feet and more. Competitors had to carry their own gear and food.
The winning team consisted of adventure racer Warren Bates, his partner Lisa Bates, and adventure racing sisters Sarah Fairmaid and Sonya Clark.
