Barton hires CEO from within

A familiar name is about to be president and CEO of Barton Health – Clint Purvance.

For the past eight years he has been the chief medical officer for the South Shore health care collective. He is board certified in emergency medicine and has practiced at Barton Memorial Hospital since 1999.

Purvance will take over on Nov. 1 for the retiring John Williams. Williams was hired in November 2006. He will stay on until early 2016.

“Dr. Purvance has the skills, knowledge, and leadership to guide us through Barton Health’s next chapter of health and wellness in our community,” Barton board President Kirk Ledbetter said in a statement.
