Echoing a nationwide downward trend, most California students are falling short of state learning targets and are not on track to succeed in college, according to the results of new, more rigorous standardized tests released Wednesday.

Across California, 44 percent of students achieved targets for their grade in English, while 34 percent did so in math.

Questions based on the new Common Core standards, which have been adopted in 42 states, are more difficult than those on California’s previous test. And students for the first time took the exam on computers.

At over $9K PER student in California, I would suggest we do away with the public school system and totally privatize it.

Well vampire dog it’s pretty obvious you have never worked for the education system. Your comment is backwards and hick-like. As usual.

This is a combination of problems, like the open borders allowing an invasion and Common Core from the Bummer gang. People should have school choice by being able to use the 9k for whatever type of approved schooling they want. Then eliminate ESL classes and close the borders and use an e-verify system for checking to see if the students are legally in the country before giving out tax payer funds for any government services or welfare programs. This is common sense that used to exist in this state, now the lower state is a colony of a third world country.

Look at the positive side. Hackers at lake tahoe community college (ltcc) in south lake tahoe are so proficient at censoring and confusing some students, they go on to the new NSA facility in Utah to lead very productive lives.
