Homewood man reportedly bought alcohol for minor

A Homewood man was cited Sept. 25 for allegedly furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor.

South Lake Tahoe police officers on Friday conducted a decoy shoulder tap operation in the Emerald Bay Road-Lake Tahoe Boulevard area to see if businesses were selling booze to under age people.

Under the program a minor under the direct supervision of a peace officer will stand outside a liquor or convenience store and ask patrons to buy them alcohol.  The minor indicates in some way he or she is underage and cannot purchase the alcohol.

If found guilty, Mark Finlaysn, 38, faces a minimum $1,000 fine and 24 hours of community service. Officials have not provide the business where he works.
