Opening as Park Tahoe in 1978, Caesars acquired operations the following year, as reflected by the marquee in the 1982 photo above.

Although barely legible, the bottom of the marquee reads: “KRLT Presents An Afternoon With Donald Duck.” The radio station’s featured star was Clarence Nash, the man who voiced Donald Duck on all the Walt Disney cartoons.  At dinner that evening, one of the menu items was roast duck. He declined.

With new ownership and new name came a new marquee in 2006. By 2014, the red-orange paint had become sun-bleached.

The Park Tahoe opened for one day, then the League to Save Lake Tahoe shut it down for a whole month. Was not a fun time for this changerunner.
