Time to help clean up Truckee River
The 20th annual Truckee River Day is Oct. 18.
Volunteers have their choice of half or full day restoration projects with different levels of difficulty. There will be 10-12 projects, including restoration at Dry Creek in Russel Valley, seeding and mulching at Johnson Canyon, milfoil surveys in Martis Valley, and revegetating near Boca Townsite. Work starts at 9am or 11am and ends at 2pm or 3pm.
The River Fair will be from 1-4pm at Granite Flat Campground.
This community event is presented in partnership with Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships. The fair features environmental activities for kids and adults. Food will be provided free of charge by Northstar.
