ABC to conduct seminar in S. Lake Tahoe
The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is putting on a free seminar for businesses on Oct. 26 from 1-5pm at Lake Tahoe Airport.
The LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) seminar will:
· Provide information on what is acceptable identification; the best way to check I.D.; how to refuse service; signs and prevention of illicit drug activity, and more.
· Give facts about criminal, civil, and ABC liability.
· Provide an update on California alcohol laws.
· Include handouts.
Register online before Oct. 25. On the day of the training, bring a copy of the business’ABC license and plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
Behind the scenes at ABC: “Hey boss, whadda ya say we all head to Tahoe for the weekend? We drive up Friday afternoon, play all weekend and spend Monday afternoon teaching the locals how to read an I.D. card. The Licensee Education fund picks up the tab and we enjoy three days at the Lake. Jeez I love this job!”
Recurring plot line, isn’t it, Copper? The complete lack of regard for responsible use of public funds is appalling, and endemic to all government agencies. Sad.
