An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen last week from the Char Pit restaurant in Kings Beach.

Employees told Placer County sheriff’s deputies that a man entered the unlocked rear door of the restaurant about 9pm Oct. 16, which was after hours, displayed a handgun and demanded money. He fled on foot.

The suspect was wearing a “Scream” Halloween-type mask during the armed robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Office at 530.581.6320. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest should contact Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800.923.8191.
